Invitation: U.S. Multimedia Journalist and Trainer Lauren Hertel to Discuss New Media Trends with Czech Audiences

Multimedia journalism trainer from the Department of Telecommunication at the University of Florida Lauren Hertel will come to Prague April 7-11 to discuss various topics of the new trends in online media with Czech audiences, especially Czech students and journalists.
Ms. Hertel will spend five days conducting a series of lectures with Czech journalists, students and NGOs. She will discuss new media trends, promotion channels and staff education at a roundtable with the nonprofit organization Transitions Online; video and TV production on the Internet with journalists from Czech commercial TV NOVA and new media, as well as the role of new media in Presidential elections with students from Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University.
In addition, Ms. Hertel will lecture about journalism at the beginning of the multimedia 21st century at the Journalists Syndicate in Prague on Tuesday, April 8 (10 a.m. ). This lecture is open to the public.
Lauren Hertel is the Academic Director for the U.S. State Department's Institute on Journalism and Media, which brings journalism instructors from countries with developing democratic media to the University of Florida for six-week summer programs.
