On September 29 U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia Vincent Obsitnik and U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic Richard Graber together presented to the Chairman of the Czech Senate Přemysl Sobotka the Pittsburgh Agreement that paved the way for the creation of an independent Czechoslovakia. The document, on loan from the Senator John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be on display at the Czech Senate until the end of October. It will be the highlight of a larger exhibition devoted to the process leading to the creation of Czechoslovakia.
