US Assistant Commerce Secretary Discusses Civil Nuclear Cooperation in Prague

Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Market Access and Compliance Michael C. Camuñez visited the Czech Republic on June 15, 2011 to demonstrate continued  support Westinghouse’s Temelin tender. He had meetings with Ambassador-at-Large for Energy Issues Vaclav Bartuska, as well as Vladimir Hlavinka from CEZ. His visit also served to advance the Economic and Commercial Dialogue (ECD) with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Milan Hovorka.  The ECD, which was agreed to during Under Secretary Sanchez’s July 2010 trip, was officially launched in December during Minister Kocourek’s visit  to Washington, D.C.

Michael Camuñez  conducted outreach meetings with the U.S. business community through the American Chamber of Commerce and  participated in an Innovation Roundtable with key government, private sector, and academic organizations.
