Taste of America in Prague
June 4 — July 4, 2011
The Festival of American Cuisine "Taste of America" brings American cuisine and traditions to the Czech Republic from June 4th through July 4th, 2011.
This festival is a unique opportunity for Czechs to taste traditional American dishes in twelve selected restaurants for attractive festival prices: a lunch for CZK 150 and a dinner for 250 CZK with a free Coca Cola with any menu item. This special festival offer will be available for all who reserve a particular meal on www.tasteofamerica.cz. Reservations will be confirmed via email after the request.
The first ever festival of American cuisine in the Czech Republic is organized by Alakarte in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Prague. "We want to put a slice of America on the Czech dinner table and show the locals that American cuisine is not only McDonald's," says Pavel Suchanek from Alakarte, which organizes various foodfestivals in the Czech Republic.
“I would like for Czechs to know how diverse American cuisine is, just like the country itself. Personally, I look forward to spicy regional cuisines, such as Cajun or Tex-Mex, which I miss the most here, even though I do like Czech cuisine,” said Stuart Schaag, Commercial Counselor of the U.S. Embassy.
