SEVIS FEE

Persons applying for F, M and J visas with initial I-20 or DS-2019 forms issued on or after September 1, 2004 will require payment of the SEVIS fee, $100 before making a visa application.
(without a proof that you have paid the SEVIS fee, you cannot be interviewed and will have to reschedule your interview!).

Short-term exchange visitors (au-pairs, summer work/travel and camp counselors) will pay a reduced fee, $35.

Individuals participating in a program sponsored by the Federal Government are statutorily exempt from the fee.

Payment of the SEVIS fee will be realized by sponsors in the USA mostly.

Applicants paying SEVIS individually can use a credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express) via the Internet site www.fmjfee.com.
