Embassy Prague introduces internet-based appointment system

Prague, May 25

Beginning June 1, 2007 applicants for all types of non-immigrant visas to the United States will be able to schedule their visa interview appointments on-line.  There will be no fee charged for scheduling an appointment. The new appointment system will be available through the U.S. Embassy’s web page found at http://prague.usembassy.gov/.  This new system has been successfully tested and used in many other American embassies and so we are happy to be inaugurating the system here in the Czech Republic.  It is our hope that this new system will save our applicants time and money when applying for a visa.

This new system replaces the call center that applicants currently must use to schedule their appointments.

Beginning June 1, 2007 applicants for American non-immigrant visas will go to the web site, fill out the electronic visa application form (EVAF) and then select their own appointment date using the interactive calendar.  You must print out the EVAF and bring it with you to the Embassy on the date of your interview along with the receipt showing the date and time of your interview.  Not having one of these forms with you at the interview may cause significant delays in the processing of your case.
