Statement of U.S. Embassy in Prague

Prague, April 13 

With regard to the visit of Czech Parliamentarians to the Marshall Islands on April 14, the U.S. Embassy working with the Czech Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs agreed that a final list of participants would be provided to us by Wednesday April 11 in order to begin processing the Diplomatic visas.  As agreed the list was submitted on time.  However, two additional names of Parliamentarians –from two different parties -- were proposed almost twenty-four hours later.  Unfortunately, there was simply not enough time to complete the processing before the Saturday departure.  Processing for U.S. diplomatic visas is uniform regardless of country, nationality or, for example, party affiliation.
