U.S. Department of State Advisor for Agricultural Biotechnology Visits Czech Republic
PRAGUE, July 21, 2005
The senior advisor to the U.S. Secretary of State for Agricultural Biotechnology Madelyn E. Spirnak will visit Prague on July 27 – 28, 2005. She will meet with the representatives of the Agriculture Ministry and the Environment Ministry, and will speak at the seminar for the Federation of Food and Beverage Producers.
Madelyn E. Spirnak leads the efforts of the Department of State to build a broad international coalition in support of a science-based approach to agricultural biotechnology and recognition of its benefits as a critical development tool. Since assuming her position in October 2004, Ms. Spirnak has engaged government, private sector, and legislative officials on the topic of agricultural biotechnology in Asia, Africa, Europe and South America.
