U.S. Military Team Completes Rescue Assistance in Kralupy nad Vltavou as Driers Arrive

The U.S. military team which brought technical equipment and helped with flood relief works in Kralupy area has finished its work and will leave Kralupy soon returning to its home base in Germany. On this occasion, a farewell and thank-you ceremony for the team will be held in Kralupy this afternoon. The event will be attended by representatives of the city and U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Kenneth Hillas and other Embassy representatives who have also been working in Kralupy. At the same time, the U.S. company Conoco, which operates the JET network of service stations and is also a part-owner of Ceska rafinerska, will present the mayor of Kralupy Pavel Rynt with a donation of much-needed industrial dryers. "On behalf of Conoco, I hope the provision of these high-power dryers will help many families in the community to get their homes dried out and back to normal as soon as possible," said Barry Kumins, managing director, Conoco Central & Eastern Europe. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kralupy City Fire station (Premyslova street, Kralupy nad Vltavou).
