The U.S. military will probably use Czech experts' research to protect computer networks against cyber attacks this year, Michal Pechoucek of the Cybernetics Department at Prague's Czech Technical University (CVUT) said at the American Center on February 4, 2010. He said Czech computer experts have developed algorithms that can protect computer networks from hackers and terrorists' attacks. He added that Czech scientists completed last December a research project for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to improve security of flight operations in the United States. The Prague office of the U.S. Office of Naval Research, which will open around the beginning of March, will support further U.S.-Czech cooperation. Similar offices operate in Santiago, Chile; Singapore; and London.
Harry N. Swenson has been a research scientist with NASA for over 27 years and has developed advanced, time‐based control technologies that have been deployed throughout the United State Air Traffic Control System. Mr. Swenson, will provide a seminar on the fundamentals of the current Air Traffic Control System and NASA’s research program, and he and Dr. Pechoucek will discuss their current collaboration.
