Bringing American Literature to Life… On-Line

Michael Huff in Pilsen

Michael Huff lectures on open-access sources for American literature.

February 23, 2009

Which classic American novel should you read if you only have time for one?  Michael Huff has some ideas for you.  Huff, an information resource specialist for the U.S. State Dept., visited Pilsen on February 18 to familiarize Czech web surfers with open-access sources for American literature.

At Western Bohemia University Huff focused on American literature and language-study resources, stressing the mantra that “some authoritative information is free, but not all free information is authoritative”.

After visiting the Patton Memorial and touring the historical Scientific Library, Huff and a group of Czech librarians and teaching experts brainstormed about American literature outreach ideas at Pilsen’s American Center.
