New Iranian Missile Causes Concern

November 30, 2007

Lt. Gen. Henry Obering, head of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, expressed concern and surprise about Iran's claim to have a new long-range missile, The Associated Press reported Nov. 29. Obering said the claim shows the need for a missile shield in Europe.

"It shows a progression, a continuing progression on greater and greater ranges of missiles," Obering said.
