Assistant Secretary of State Fernandez on Trade Relations

Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Jose W. Fernandez visited Prague on September 6-7 to discuss U.S.-Czech trade relations including the Mutual Investment Treaty. Fernandez met Czech Industry and Trade Minister Martin Kuba, Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek and other Czech officials.
Several days later, Assistant Secretary of Commerce Michael C. Camunez participated in the second round of the U.S.-Czech Commercial Dialogue which took place at Brno's International Engineering Fair on September 11.
The United States is one of the top five sources of foreign investment in the Czech Republic, and the United States welcomes greater investment from the Czech Republic consistent with the SelectUSA initiative launched by President Obama last year.
