    Ambassador Schapiro's Statement on Kevin Dahlgren

    The United States and the Czech Republic cooperate closely on judicial matters and our law enforcement authorities coordinate on processing legal requests. A U.S. District Court found Kevin Dahlgren extraditable to stand trial on murder charges in the Czech Republic.

    The Embassy Celebrates 4th of July by Adopting Bald Eagle at ZOO

    On the occasion of the U.S. Independence Day celebrations (July 4), the U.S. Embassy in Prague adopted the Bald Eagle at the Prague Zoo. Since 1782, the eagle has been a symbol of the American nation. U.S. Ambassador Andrew Schapiro and his wife Tamar Newberger unveiled the adoption plaque at the eagles’ aviary on July 2.

    On May 28, Ambassador Andrew Schapiro visited the Prague headquarters of Rockwell Automation including the Rockwell Research & Development (R&D) Center. The Prague headquarters is responsible for the company’s business in the “Czech Cluster” (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) and “South East Europe” (Romania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Macedonia and Serbia).
