Guard

Ordinarily Resident:   Kc 212.878 (starting annual salary)
                               (Position Grade: FSN-2)

The U.S. Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic is seeking an individual for full time position of Guard in Security Section.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Performs guard duties on a permanent or rotating shift during the hours and on the days determined by the Guard Supervisor at either a stationary post or a walking patrol post at the Chancery or at the Ambassador’s Residence. Guard duties include surveillance, security checks of gates and doorways, access control, search procedures, interaction with public, coordination with US, local personnel and local security services.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Primary school is required.

2. At least six months experience in security/protective services is required.

3.  Level 2 (Limited Knowledge) speaking/reading English is required. Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/reading Czech is required.

SELECTION PROCESS

When equally qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFM) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference.  Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.


ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA

Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. 

Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.

Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.

Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.

4. Any other documentation (e.g. essays, certificates, awards, copies of degrees earned) that addresses the qualification requirements of the position as listed above.
