U.S. Ambassador Acknowledges Community Development in the Czech Republic
November 18, 2011
U.S. Ambassador Norman Eisen recognized the activity of the Czech local communities and civil associations preserving historical heritage in small Czech towns and villages. On November 16, 2011, the Ambassador hosted the annual Civic Forum Foundation Awards Ceremony at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence in Prague.
Civic Forum Foundation, one of the first Czech NGOs, has been focusing on preserving architectural monuments since 1990 and every year presents grants to local community and civil associations for renovation of historical architectural sites (Neglected Monuments Program) or for the renovation of historical building serving as social services and health care facilities (Monuments and Health Program).
"Your dedication and hard work gives a much needed boost to the life of the community while preserving Czech heritage and culture for future generations. I applaud your work and I am grateful to the Civic Forum Foundation for supporting it," said Ambassador Eisen at the Award Ceremony.
