In January 2006, our Deputy Chief of Mission (the second most senior person at the embassy after the Ambassador) Cameron Munter at the U.S. Embassy in Prague left to spend six months in Iraq assisting one of the government teams located outside of Baghdad. He was assigned to Mosul, one of the largest cities in northern Iraq. During his stay in Iraq, Cameron volunteered to send us periodic updates on life and the challenges of rebuilding Iraq, which we have made publicly available on our website.
