Czech Physicians Examine Vein Viewer

November 4 — Several dozen doctors and nurses from Czech hospitals attended a presentation at the U.S. ambassador’s residence on November 3 of the Luminetx Company’s Vein Viewer Imaging System, which Time Magazine recognized as “one of the most amazing medical inventions” of the year.

The medical device uses a combination of near-infrared light and other patented technologies to image vascular structures, allowing healthcare professionals to clearly see blood vessels on the surface of the skin without exposing the patient to heat and radiation.

“It took 10 years…to develop the Vein Viewer, and it is now used by prominent health care facilities throughout the U.S. and elsewhere,” said Luminetx Vice President of global marketing Chris Schnee.

Jakub Major of the Hospimed Company, an exclusive Vein Viewer distributor in the Czech Republic, added there is already one order from the CR. Luminetx, based in Memphis, Tennessee, develops and commercializes bioscience technologies.
