The Embassy Participates in the Cycle to Work Campaign (May 5)

Cycle to Work

The U.S. Embassy Prague is a proud participant of the Cycle to Work campaign organized by Auto*mat. For many years the Embassy has supported cycling to work and offers facilities for bikers.  Ten employees are currently taking part in the “Green Kilometers Competition” which runs from April 29th to May 29th, 2011.

“It’s fun; it’s great for the environment; and it keeps me shape.  As H.G. Wells once said, ‘Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race,’” said Cultural Attaché David Gainer, who’s been cycling to work for over 20 years on roads in Malawi, Washington, DC, South Africa, Cambodia, Australia, and Prague.
