Notice to the Public

The Consular Section of the United States Embassy, Prague, will be undergoing extensive renovations for eight weeks beginning September 25, 2006.

The goal of these renovations is to create a space that is more efficient and responsive to your needs.  During the reconstructions, the Consular staff will be working out of a reduced space and, therefore, we must temporarily alter some of procedures outlined below.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Temporary Afternoon Visa Interviews

From October 3 – November 30:  Visa appointments will be conducted in the afternoon, instead of mornings.  There will be no change in the number of appointments we can accommodate, nor will there be any change in the procedures for students.

Hours for U.S. Citizens

Regarding services for American citizens, all persons who wish to report the birth of an American citizen must make an appointment.  All other consular services for American citizens will be provided without appointment from 8:30 – 11:30 am, Monday through Friday.

Embassy Closed September 28, 2006

Please note that Thursday, September 28, is a Czech national holiday and the U.S. Embassy will be closed.
