American Center Presents Artworks Made by Mentally Handicapped People

American Center displays pictures and photographs by Inventura artists.

Inventura, civic association, launched the exhibition of artworks and photographs made by mentally handicapped people. Opening at the American Center on January 27, 2011 was connected with the screening of short films and an one-hour long documentary Earthlings, Who Are You Voting For?, which Inventura film workshop students filmed during the 2010 parliamentary electoral campaigns.

Films were presented within the Inventura's project "Conquering Public Spaces" which unhides people with mental handicaps through presentations of their art in public spaces. Inventura is the first platform in the Czech Republic for supporting and presenting the artistic and journalistic work of people with learning disabilities.

Till the end of March, the American Center displays pictures and photographs by Inventura artists Pavla Koberová, Aleš Koudela, Lenka Křivanová, Marie Kůsová, Zdenka Líbalová, Vladimíra Müllerová and Lidmila Sommerová.
