Marketing Your Candidate: How to Win Elections Today

Lecture by Bruce Newman, DePaul University, Chicago, International Symposium on Political Marketing: CAMPAIGNS 2009

Where: Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University, Brno, Jostova 10
When: Thursday, October 8, from 10:00 AM

The Information Age has fundamentally changed the way we elect our leaders. Professor Bruce Newman, from DePaul University in Chicago, will discuss how marketing and politics blended in the last U.S. presidential election in his keynote speech, “The Obama Phenomenon,” at the International Symposium on Political Marketing: CAMPAIGNS 2009 in Brno.

Organized by Masaryk University’s Social Studies Faculty, the conference is particularly timely as Czech elections approach. In fact, both leading Czech political parties have hired U.S. firms that specialize in elections to advise their campaigns.

Professor Newman edits the Handbook of Political Marketing and the Journal of Political Marketing.

The conference will feature notable election experts from the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Denmark.
