When: August 20, 5 p.m.
Where: American Center (Tržiště 13, Praha 1, approx. 50 m below the Embassy)

The American Center is happy to invite you to a lecture by prominent U.S. military historian Edward Luttwak, organized on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia. Mr. Luttwak will offer a perspective that is not frequently mentioned in Czech debates about 1968 – what were the positions and reflections of the situation in the United States.

Mr. Luttwak is a CSIS senior associate and has served as a consultant to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the National Security Council, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force, and a number of allied governments as well as international corporation. He is a frequent lecturer at universities and military colleges in the United States and abroad and has testified before several congressional committees and presidential commissions.

The lecture will also open an American Center exhibition of unique photographs of the invasion by Czech-American journalist Dušan Neumann never displayed in the Czech Republic. (more)

The lecture will be held in English (Czech translation provided).

Please RSVP at acprague@state.gov or tel. +420 257 530 640.
