October 8, 2009 — From October to December, the American Center hosts a series of lectures on the development of American feminism, prepared by the Gender Studies, an NGO. Lecturers will outline the development of American feminism from its beginnings in the XIX. century to its contemporary approach. One lecture will also focus on Afro-American feminism.
Nina Bosničová, project leader, believes that the lectures will explain a role which the American feminist movement played in a history of female emancipation in the whole world and should challenge the stereotype image of American feminism in the minds of Czech people.
