Registration with the U.S. Embassy

The Department of State recommends that all Americans register with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate when traveling or residing abroad.  Registering makes your whereabouts and contact information known, in the event of an emergency or disaster, so that assistance can be provided.  Additionally, important information issued by the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy is readily distributed to those citizens who are registered.  The ACS section of the U.S. Embassy Prague is the primary contact for communications to U.S. citizens in Czech Republic.

Citizens may register in person at the Embassy in Prague or online here. Please note that if registering at the ACS office, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.  Registration online does not constitute proof of citizenship.

Please note that, according to the Privacy Act, your personal information obtained through registration will not be released without your authorization.
