High School and University Students Take Up the Roles of Diplomats

From March 11 to March 14, Prague held the 16th annual Prague Student Summit, an educational project that has been successfully cooperating with the American Center in the past years. The U.S. Ambassador Norman Eisen addressed the students with an inspiring speech during the opening ceremony of the closing conference.

During the past months, more than 400 students from all around the Czech Republic met regularly during preparatory sessions with interesting guests, participated in a number of educational activities, developed their communication skills and understanding of important international issues.

Subsequently, the students were able to implent the newly acquired knowledge and capabilities during the final four-day conference´s simulation of negotiations of the UN, NATO, and the EU. This year,  the hottest topics in the debates included Libya, Afghanistan, nuclear proliferation, and children´s rights.
