Students from National Youth Parliament Discuss Czech-U.S. Relations during a Roundtable at the American Center
November 26, 2007
On Friday, November 23, the American Center hosted a roundtable of the National Parliament of Youth. Among the key speakers were public affairs officer Alexandra McKnight, director of the American Center Marek Svoboda and Jakub Tesar from the Fulbright Commission.
Members of the National Youth Parliament learned about the work of the Embassy and the U.S. diplomatic service. The students had many questions on a variety of issues from the Czech inclusion in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program to the possible sitting of a missile defense radar in the Czech Republic; students also had a chance to ask questions about all aspects of life in the States.
The second part of the discussion focused on studying in the U.S. Students were briefed by a representative from the Fulbright Commission about academic and professional exchange programs for advanced study and research in the United States. As a finale, they toured the American Center and learned about its services and resources.
