Ambassador Graber Visits Pilsen

Ambassador Richard W. Graber had an enjoyable visit to the Western Bohemian city Pilsen on Thursday, November 16. The denizens of Pilsen fondly remembered the liberation of their town and West Bohemia by U.S. troops under General Patton and our hosts, whether at the Škoda JS Nuclear Engineering Facility, Governor Zimmermann’s office or Mayor Rodl’s office, welcomed us with the region’s famous warm hospitality. The highlight of the visit was the grand-opening reception at the new Pilsner Urquell packaging hall. The reception was attended by South African Ambassador Noncy Dube, Foreign Minister Alexandr Vondra, and President Václav Klaus, who remarked that the new brewery’s facility will greatly expand the market reach of this most famous “Czech ambassador,” Pilsner beer.
