Renaissance Ceiling Panels

Renaissance Ceiling Panels Discovered at the Prague Embassy

Restoration of Renaissance ceiling panels, discovered during the
reconstruction of the Embassy Consular Section, was completed last
month. The panels, believed to have been painted during the 1590's,
were discovered under a drop ceiling. The Embassy was pleased to
preserve this small part of the cultural heritage of Prague, which will
be viewable in the waiting room of the American Citizen Services
section.  

The renovation project is designed to improve services for
both American citizens and visa applicants. The number of teller
windows was increased, the waiting room space was doubled, and new
comfortable chairs have been purchased to make your stay more pleasant.
The project was completed in November 2006.
