The U.S. Embassy in Prague would like to invite you to a lecture by Jiří Černík "John A. Sutter, the founder of modern California, defendant of immigrants and victim of the gold rush," that will take place in commemoration of the 160th anniversary of California joining the United States. The lecture will give basic information about the rise and fall of this Swiss immigrant, his contribution to the founding of modern California and subsequent efforts to receive adequate compensation from the U.S. government.
