U.S. Embassy Presents Second Annual Alice Garrigue Masaryk Award

On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of International Human Rights Day
, the U.S. Ambassador, William Cabaniss, presented the ALICE GARRIGUE MASARYK AWARD to Kumar Vishwanathan in recognition of his exceptional initiatives in the field of human rights, his role in establishing “Living Together,” an NGO dedicated to improving the lives of Roma people, and his efforts to promote dialogue and social cohesion between Roma and non-Roma people in the Northern Moravia Region.  

The Alice Garrigue Masaryk Award, established in 2004, is given annually to highlight the special achievements of people working in the field of human rights and civil liberties in the Czech Republic.
